Stuff That Annoys Me - Episode 3: People that dont take responsibility for their own actions.

(Inspired by a News Story I read tonight)

So you're a kid and you climb on a freight train and you fall off, breaking a leg that badly it needs to be amputated. Whose fault is that? Dont give me crap about the owners of the trains not making sure that you didnt play on the trains...the only way to stop that would to electify them all, and you'd be dead instead of trying to earn millions in court.

I've said it before, I'll say it again...it's about time that people started taking responsibility for their own actions. If you dont have the common sense to not dive into a sandbar, dont blame the council, blame yourself and your poor powers of deduction.

If I ever jump someone's fence and crack my skull open, I'm not going to sue them...because it would have been my own fault. I'm not going to blame the manufactorer of a vending machine if I tip it and it falls on me. Because in any and all of the cases I've mentioned, it's your own stupid fault, there wouldnt have been a problem if you hadnt have done it.

If you ever get in trouble for something, dont blame it on someone else...I can almost gaurantee that it'll come back to get you later on.

So please, just take responsibility for the things you do.

Every once in a while, something happens that you can't forget.

Rewind back to 2001, I'm in year 7. For quite a long time I went out with a girl named Jesse...in hindsight, a bad decision on her behalf, way too much of a vibrant personality to match at all well. My point is, that at one stage she wrote me a song, and sang it to me during one lunchtime at school, in front of all our friends. This still stands as one of the awesome things anyone has done for me, despite the fact of how embarressed I was at the time. Funny thing is, apparent she doesnt remember much about that.

Fast forward a few years of being friends, and then me moving away and losing contact for ages...recently began talking again. And on her profile tonight I discovered her new music. All I can say is "wow".

So, in the interest of listening to some excellent music by the nicest voice I've had the pleasure of knowing, here's the link... Jesse's Music

So what makes the Gazmiester tick? Well, there's an easy answer to that...nothing really, I'm just here...but in the interest of making this interesting, I'll answer some more specifics.

Do I have a long term goal? Nope. I just look at the immediate future, at the most a year or two ahead. Hell, the apprenticeship I'm doing at the moment is the longest commitment I've ever made. I have had a chance or two at longer lasting things, but I've managed to screw them up somehow.

How commited to relationships am I? I wouldnt term my relationships as non-committed. It's just been a case of incompatibility, or other complications. And yes, I can hear some of you chanting my nickname while you read that bit (I'll get to that later), but I honestly prefer a real, loving relationship compared to casual sex... knowing that you have someone that cares for you like no-one else can, that is something special. I've spent a fair amount of time being single, and contrary to popular opinion, it does hurt, just as it does for most people.
Now, about the nickname. For those who dont know, it's "Man Whore" [or the newer "Glitter", which is a whole different story], a title I wear with both pride and disdain. It stems from around the end of year 10 through to year 12, at a time when I was not exactly the moral-abiding young man that many people thought I was. Since then it's been sporadic, mainly when I'm away (for holidays or otherwise)...why away? Because it's no-one from here, so the gossip doesnt spread nearly as far, and it's not a trait I like publicised everywhere I go.

Why am I so sarcastic and cynical? This one's a tough one, because I'm not exactly sure, although I have a fair idea. I don't care if I die, or if the world ends, after all, I'm just one bunch of tiny organisms on a tiny planet orbiting a tiny sun...so this makes anything that happens in the meantime a little trivial in the grand scheme of things. That fatalism seems to have slowly translated into sarcasm, the streak of which (plus some external factors...*looks at a certain someone*) have made me rather cynical of the world in general, and especially humanity.

Last one for tonight, a bonus question that I've already been asked...

"What really grabs your attention to a girl?" - I cant help but answer this one, because it'll make for an interesting impromptu experiment. Anyways, to answer the question... a lithe body with mid-drift tops and jeans, coupled with shining hair, deep eyes and a nice smile, will probably have me mentally falling over...and if the personality is there too, well, I might actually be at a loss for words. That said, I really am a believer in the "everyone can look stunning if they do it right" school of thought, just dont forget to smile.

WHAT ARE THEY THINKING??!! Seriously, this fad is well and truly over... they're even abusing the intelligence of the lowest common denominator now. Either that, or humanity really is getting more and more stupid.
If you're wondering, I saw the trailer to "Disaster Movie" last night... watch the trailer (on youtube) Here and you'll see what i mean.

News for today, it was my mum's birthday, so we gave her a special present...a joy flight, above inverell, copeton dam and such. Ash and I went with her, and it was pretty cool. There's a lot more historical places than I knew were around the place. For pictures, see my Facebook Photo album Here
That was definately a highlight for the week.

And that's all for today, tune in again later for an exlusive episode of "What makes Gary tick", coming to this space soon.
