So what's on the agenda for tonight? Well I thought I'd go with the concept of not seeing people for long stretches of time.
Tonight I was (and many of the people that read this were as well) at a party and a lot of our friends from school were there. Keeping in mind that we finished school nearly two years ago, it was probably the first time we've all been in the one place for ages.
There were two things I noticed...I'll get the shallow bit of the road first and state that it may be true that looks improve in the early twenties, cause well, damn.
Now, to the more important part of this. It's been two years since school...yet the divisions between groups are still there. I guess it's to be expected, because you tend to stick to groups you know. The pack mentality. I've realised it is very easy to identify trends if you relate them back to instinct...because they are all an extension of our natural instincts, merely twisted and modified to comply with civilisation.
Also unlike our less civilised companions on this planet, we indulge in things that we know will lead to bad circumstances. I'm talking about things like alcohol. Everyone knows what it does, that the results are almost always negative, yet they partake in it anyway. It's an intriguing trait that we possess, and I'm sure any beings watching us from above will be a little bit confused with the point.
Yes, I believe there is something greater than us out there. I mean cmon, if we're the best the universe has to offer...it's in serious trouble.
